Dember arrived at Los Barrios pound in June 2025 and was about 11 years old on arrival. He is a gorgeous American Staffordshire Bull Terrier.

Dember is 11 years old. For his entire life, he lived with his owner – his only family. But after a recent traffic accident, everything changed. Because Dember is classified as a PPP (potentially dangerous breed), his owner – who does not hold the required license – is no longer allowed to reclaim him.

So now, after 11 years in a loving home, Dember has ended up in the pound.

It’s overcrowded. It’s noisy. It’s dirty. The heat is unbearable. He is confined with almost no space to move, and there is very little human contact. This is not what any dog deserves – least of all a senior dog who has known nothing but home, routine, and love.

He is confused. He is grieving. He doesn’t understand what has happened to him. And he urgently needs someone to step in – whether to adopt or foster – and show him that his life still matters.

Please, help Dember. Don’t let his story end like this.
