Ardilla – A Sweet Young Soul Waiting to Blossom...

Ardilla arrived at the pound in July 2025 and was about 1.5 years old on arrival. He is a gorgeous Staffordshire Bull Terrier who was found presumably abandoned on the streets and taken to the pound.

He is a very sweet and affectionate young dog who loves seeking attention from people.

Ardilla has been introduced to different female dogs and a male, and he absolutely loves playing with them, showing his playful, happy, and social side. He enjoys running and clearly thrives when he gets the chance to move and interact. Ardilla really enjoys human company and being part of what’s going on around him.

He walks well most of the time, passing by people, cars, and motorbikes without any problem. Most dogs he meets on walks don’t bother him at all, though occasionally a dog will trigger a reaction and he may bark. The same goes for cats — he isn’t a fan! Ardilla is always happy to pause for a cuddle and a tasty treat, showing just how affectionate he can be.

Sadly, Ardilla spends more than 23 hours every day confined to a small cage with his companion. Even though he is lucky to have company, it is still a very restricted life for a young and playful dog. Day after day without enough space to run, explore, and enjoy the simple things dogs love is incredibly difficult.

Ardilla deserves so much more — a loving home where he can stretch his legs, feel safe, and truly relax, and where he can be a cherished member of the family.

Adoption event update – May 2026 🐾
In May 2026, Wendy and Ardilla attended our big adoption event at the new land where we hope to build our future shelter.

The two dogs shared a pen together and were lucky enough to have their very own dedicated volunteer spending the whole day with them.

Their pen was located right in the middle of the busy event, surrounded by music, food stalls, people, and children running around playing, but both of them handled everything incredibly well.

Wendy and Ardilla were very affectionate and sociable with everyone who came into the pen to meet them. They were wonderful with children too — although Wendy may have been a little too enthusiastic at times, happily jumping up to give face kisses 😂

Throughout the day, both dogs clearly enjoyed all the attention, cuddles, and human interaction they received.

At the end of the day, their volunteer said:

“I think both of them would be great family dogs and easy to train once out of the shelter.”

Unfortunately, nobody fell in love with Wendy or Ardilla that day, and after the event they had to return once again to the chaotic pound environment they are still waiting to leave behind.

Please help Ardilla find the home he so deeply deserves. 🐾❤️
