Duque arrived at Los Barrios pound in August 2025 and was about 9.5 years old on arrival. He is a gorgeous Crossbreed that was found presumably abandoned in the streets and brought to the pound.

Duque’s Story..
Duque is about nine and a half years old, and sadly he arrived at the pound in a terrible state. His skin was badly affected, his stomach was inflamed, and he was clearly unwell. With veterinary care and patience, he is now doing better, though he is still undergoing tests to understand his condition. The vet suspects Cushing’s disease, but this has not yet been confirmed.

Despite everything he has been through, Duque remains a gentle soul who gets along well with other dogs. He is an older dog who should not have to endure the stress and chaos of the pound. At the moment, he spends more than 23 hours a day in an enclosed cage – far from the comfort and love he deserves.

Duque longs for a kind home where he can rest on a soft bed, feel safe, and be surrounded by care and affection. This special boy deserves to spend his golden years in peace, not behind bars.
