Kelly arrived at Los Barrios pound in Agosto 2025 and was about 10.5 years old on arrival. She is a gorgeous Crossbreed that was found presumably abandoned in the streets and brought to the pound.

Kelly – a gentle soul with a heart full of love…
Kelly is a truly special girl. She arrived with us in August, 10 years old and in poor condition, her skin showing the toll of what may have been a difficult past. With time and care, she has improved so much, and today she shines with a quiet beauty that matches her sweet personality.

Despite everything she may have been through, Kelly remains a darling – gentle, loving, and calm. She still has energy, enjoys her walks, and is wonderful on the lead. She is not at all bothered by people, other dogs, or passing cars, simply following by your side with a peaceful presence. Kelly adores water and tennis balls, and she still shows her playful side when given the chance.

Kelly is great with male dogs, though she has not yet been tested on the lead with females, so introductions would need to be done carefully.

As a senior, Kelly deserves so much more than spending the winter in a cold, damp kennel. She should be resting her paws on a soft, warm bed, surrounded by the love and comfort of a family who will cherish her. She has so much affection to give and will bring endless joy to the home lucky enough to welcome her.

Kelly is waiting for that special family to see her not just as a senior, but as the treasure she truly is. Could you give her the loving home she deserves?

Update – Kelly in foster care (March 2026)

Kelly has now been in foster care for around four and a half months, and we are so happy to share that she is doing really well in a home environment 💛

Her foster describes her as a calm and easy dog who enjoys relaxing and sleeping a lot. She is very affectionate and truly loves being close to her people. In the home, she behaves beautifully — she doesn’t get into trouble and has very good manners.

She is also doing great with children and has shown herself to be gentle and kind around them. Kelly is fully housetrained and handles her toilet routines outside really well.

One thing her foster mentioned with a smile is that Kelly is a very quiet dog — she doesn’t bark. In fact, they say they haven’t even heard her bark at all.

Despite her calm nature, she also has a playful side. She loves chasing after a ball and will happily run after it with enthusiasm 🐾

Sadly, due to personal circumstances, her foster can no longer keep her. This means Kelly urgently needs a new long-term foster home — or even better, a forever home.

We are very worried about her having to return to the pound, as she struggled a lot there before. After experiencing the comfort and safety of a home, going back would be very hard for her.

If you can offer Kelly a place in your home, please get in touch. She truly deserves to continue this new chapter of her life, feeling safe, loved, and part of a family.
