Rufo arrived at Los Barrios pound in January 2026 and was about 10.5 years old on arrival. He is a gorgeous Breton Spaniel that was handed in by his owner.

Rufo is a wonderful 10-year-old Breton who recently arrived at the pound (January 2026) along with another dog, Persan, a German Shepherd. His previous owner can no longer care for them due to financial difficulties and the need to undergo knee surgery.

Rufo is a calm and charming dog. He is very manageable and friendly. He shares a special bond with Persan and enjoys his company.

Rufo is looking for a loving forever home where he can receive affection, attention, and feel safe. He is a loyal companion and a true treasure for the family who welcomes him.

UPDATE: A few weeks after his arrival, Rufos was moved into a foster home due to the risk of flooding at the pound caused by heavy rain and strong winds. He is truly enjoying the warmth, comfort, and safety of a loving home. His foster says he is really nice, travels calmly in the car, and always does his business outside.

His stay in foster is only temporary during the rainy period, and Rufos is still in need of his forever home where he can be loved and cherished for life.
