Balboa is a truly stunning young boy who immediately catches your eye — not just for his looks, but for his presence 💛

He arrived at the pound in March 2026, estimated to be around one year old at the time. He is a big, handsome Malinois type, full of life and potential, still very much at the beginning of what should be a long and active journey.

Balboa is great with people and enjoys human interaction. He loves going on walks and behaves very well on the lead — he does not pull and walks calmly alongside you. He doesn’t seem bothered by passing cars or other dogs; instead, he appears curious and engaged with the world around him.

He has also shown very positive social behaviour with other dogs. He has spent time on the patio with a female dog, which went well, and has recently been on a walk with another male dog without any issues on the lead.

Like many young Malinois, Balboa is intelligent, active, and ready to engage with life — but sadly, his current situation does not meet his needs. He is currently living alone in a very small cage for more than 23 and a half hours a day, with very little stimulation. For a young dog of his breed and energy level, this is incredibly difficult and heartbreaking to witness.

He needs much more — both physically and mentally — in order to truly thrive.

Balboa deserves a loving home that understands his needs and is ready to give him the structure, activity, enrichment, and affection he craves. A home where he can use his mind, move his body, and finally feel like a valued companion rather than just waiting behind bars.

He is a wonderful young dog with so much potential. He deserves the chance to live a full, active, and happy life — the life he was meant to have. 💛
