Tuki arrived at Los Barrios pound in October 2024 and was about 6 years old on arrival. He is a Staffordshire Bull Terrier that was found presumably abandoned in the streets and brought to the pound.

Eight months have passed since Tuki arrived at the pound. Eight long months in a small cage, alone, with only the sound of barking dogs around him. He has no companion by his side, no family to comfort him—just a short daily break on the patio and the rare joy of a walk when a volunteer has time.

Despite his confinement, Tuki still lights up the moment he’s chosen for a walk. His entire face transforms—his eyes shine, his tail wags, and for a little while, he gets to be the happy dog he was meant to be. Sadly, these moments are far too rare.

When he is outside, even just for a few minutes, he craves affection. He leans into every cuddle and soaks up every bit of attention he can get. It’s clear he is longing for love and connection.

Tuki was approximately six years old when he arrived, which makes him around seven now. These should be his golden years, but instead, he’s spending them in solitude. This is no life for any dog, least of all one as gentle and affectionate as Tuki.
